Finally, Anna is my fifth reason out of five to step down from the position as party leader.
“During your travels, you will one day meet a tradesman more apt for your trade than yourself. When this happens, you have a choice: become the best at something else, or forever languish in knowing you’re second-rate jack of all trades.” — Oscar Wilde
I knew Anna was special in her very first blog post about pirate politics. At that point, I wanted her on the management team, and asked if we could meet over a cup of coffee. She wrote in a guest post here that it felt like a job interview. Still, after that point, she was on the management team, and shortly after that again, she was the deputy party leader.
I could go on and on here, but really, no point. Anna has proven herself beyond what anyone had expected in the capacity to take the party to the next level. While I had the capacity to take the party from nothing to here, another skill set is needed for the next stage.
This concludes my reasons for stepping down as party leader. The next post will (finally!) be about politics again.
