Keynote in Glasgow: “Why are you here?”

I was invited to keynote at the conference of Pirate Party UK as the election to Scottish Parliament approaches. My focus was to give a bigger picture, challenging the audience with the title “Why are you here?”.
This was a pirate-internal keynote, giving the bigger “You Are Here” picture of how new global political movements surface with surprising regularity, about every 40 years. I also spoke a bit about practical tips.

Really good one. This is what the pirate movement needs you to do, spread the knowledge and stir inspiration.
“You are here” made me think of the Total Perspective Vortex :D

Technical matter: Is the video hosted by PP? Is the infrastructure failsafe in regards to the future? In other words, will embedding by bloggers work in the future as well?
PR-matter: Multi-spreading of clips like these probably works better in order to better deliver the message to as many as possible (think YouTube, Vimeo etc).

The video is hosted by blip.tv. The infrastructure is as safe as that company. The sources will probably be kept in case of a future shutdown to be able to upload somewhere else.
YouTube won’t allow clips of this length, and they spread by embedding in either case — nobody random-browses on YouTube, people follow links.
